I’ve been in business for over 15 years. I’ve tried a lot of different things. Some worked really well, others didn’t. I’ve enjoyed some of the things I did and didn’t enjoy others.
Many times I aimed to do things the easy way. In fact, I often encourage my clients to look for the easy way to accomplish a goal. Sometimes, however, the easy way isn’t the right way.
Sometimes the “harder” road is more interesting, refreshing, or satisfying.
Think about your business and your life. What are your goals? When does it make sense to take the easy way? When does it make more sense to take the harder route?

What a charming video! Loved it. The beauty of where you are is analogous of the difference between being on the path (easier) to being where you were (more challenging, etc.) and the rewards are greater, not so? So often we forget the rewards, and run after the quickest way…

Glad you liked the video. I think part of it is understanding what reward you want. Sometimes the reward is the journey itself and the feeling of accomplishment you get from that journey. Other times the reward you are looking for is the result of the journey. Sometimes the easy way is the right way & sometimes the “hard” way.

Change is hard, familiarity creates ease, perseverance helps you through that change until business runs like a well-oiled machine. It is unrealistic to think you can start at the easy way and expect that to evolve into great results (sure, you can copy a methodology and be stuck in a rut). The analogy of the video is that the paved road is one everybody tends to take, while discoveries are made off that path.
