I don’t like keeping secrets. Today I can finally share.
I’ve been in business for ten years. As I look back over the years the only constant has been change. I’ve changed what I do (several times). I’ve changed the people I work with. My children have grown and changed. And I’ve changed. I’ve learned. I’ve grown. I’ve matured.
I looked back at some of newsletters I sent out over the years (the first one went out in 2005). I read some of the personal notes and looked at the pictures I often include. Pictures of my kids getting their braces off (and on). Birthday celebrations. My daughter’s acceptance to Lehigh University (my alma mater). Pictures of some of the pies I’ve baked. Snow falls, snowmen, the tomatoes we’ve grown. Pictures after Hurricane Irene and Sandy came through. Pictures of me after running my first 5K and of course this past summer’s Warrior Dash. Come June 2014 there will be pictures of my sons graduating from high school (let’s keep our fingers crossed on this one, okay?).
My Dad and I always said, “All roads lead to where you’re going”.
Each and every experience I’ve had has helped bring me to the place I am now. This includes every conversation I’ve had with clients, with mentors, with prospects. Successful product launches, disappointing product launches. You’ve been along on the road with me watching it all and hopefully learning as I did.
Over the years I’ve taken on new things and I’ve let others go as they no longer served me. And now it’s time to shed something that has become very close to me, in fact, the entire face of my business.

What drives me crazy is that, after a couple of years of working really hard, some find that they achieve some level of success in their business but at a huge cost. They’ve lost themselves. They are working harder than they have ever worked before and find themselves saying “No” to the very reasons that they went into their own business in the first place. Others find some success but believe that to get “real success” they’d have to give up the very things they went into business for.
